Explore Platform Z

Located at 375 Conshohocken State Rd, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004, Platform Z offers a unique and relaxed dining experience in an old train station, creating a cozy atmosphere that perfectly complements its modern menu. This charming spot is a favorite among locals for its friendly service, where the owners make it a point to ensure every guest feels welcome. Whether you’re dining indoors or enjoying the outdoor seating next to the bike trail, Platform Z provides a warm and inviting environment to unwind.

One of the standout dishes is their poke bowl, known for its freshness and vibrant flavors. Guests rave about the combination of ingredients, and staff members like Lucy and Anna are always eager to offer tips on how to make your bowl just right-suggesting a drizzle of both Sriracha aioli and teriyaki sauce for an extra kick. Another popular menu item is the pork ramen, which satisfies those in search of hearty, flavorful comfort food.

Though most visitors leave satisfied with the food, some have noted that the drinks, especially the crème brûlée oreo bubble tea, could use a little more sweetness or milk to match their expectations. However, the overall dining experience, paired with excellent service, often outweighs these small imperfections, with many promising to return and try more menu offerings. Whether you're looking for a casual meal, a delicious poke bowl, or a relaxing spot to enjoy with friends, Platform Z is a gem worth exploring in Bala Cynwyd.

This place never lets me down. Best ramen I’ve ever had and my husband loves the poke bowls. And I’m always welcomed in by smiling, friendly faces! Bathroom is clean and has a padded changing table which I thought was a nice addition.

New Find! Opened about Sept. 2022. What a delightful little place. It’s a great spot to grab, lunch, a light dinner, or coffee or tea in the morning or afternoon, on a nice day enjoy them on the patio outside. It has covered and uncovered sections. The menu runs the gamut from meals of ramen soup and poke bowls to coffee, pastries, cupcakes and fresh baked cookies. The owner is super friendly. And the hours are simple and easy to remember; 9a to 9p.

I’d give it a 4.5/5 stars. My husband and I tried this place and were overall happy with it. We were both satisfied with our food (poke bowl and pork ramen), but were quite disappointed by our drinks. We ordered the crème brûlée oreo with 30% sugar: the 30% sugar was probably too low (we don’t like things that are too sweet, but here, we could barely taste the sweetness) and there was no milk in it either. But we were probably biased by our own experience with such bubble teas at other places where it was made with milk tea (as opposed to regular tea) and tasted (much) better. So, I took out 1 star for the food for that reason. Otherwise, the service & atmosphere were great. We would be happy to come back to try out other items on the menu.

Environment was actually very soothing. The owner was very nice and chill. Probably a place I would have loved if I was still in school. Fruits and chips are laid out like nostalgic convenience store. Food on the other hand, was very mediocre. Ramen and especially its broth were definitely not comparable to many japanese ramen places I have been to. Takoyaki was just okay. For what I got, price was a bit expensive. Would visit for vibe, but food I might need to give it another chance.

Highly recommend Platform Z for Poke bowls. Quality ingredients. Multiple protein choices and even more veggie choices. Lots of finishing sauces and crunchy toppings to pick from. Situated within an old Septa station house the interior has a lot of character and the outdoor seating has wonderful views.

Platform Z is great! I love the poke bowls here. Lucy and Anna are always so friendly and have great tips for how to make your bowl top notch. Here's a hint: ask for the Sriracha aioli AND the teriyaki sauce!

Super cute restaurant in the old train station in a relaxed setting. The owners are very nice and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. My poke bowl was fresh and full of flavor. We are outside next to the bike trail in a relaxed setting. I definitely plan to return.

One of the better poke bowls I’ve had. Filled to the brim too.
